Earth Day Fun!

I’m throwing my food rules out the window today,
and we will be indulging in some bad for you, ready-made goodness!
We are having Worms in Dirt!  A fun little thing to have for Earth Day.

Here’s what I used for my take on this treat:
1 ready made Chocolate Cake
1 box of Oreo Cookie Crumbs
1 container of Chocolate Ice Cream
1 bag of Gummie Worms

  • Put a slice of chocolate cake in the bottom of your dish.
  • Add some cookie crumbs.
  • Add a scoop or 2 of ice cream.
  • Add more cookie crumbs.
  • Top with worms!

Too fun!  The kids will love this!

So, because I needed to take some pictures of this little treat for this here blog,
I of course had to make one ahead of time for myself.
I had to make sure it was worthy of eating!   wink wink

  5. Mmmmm….goood! I’ve made a version of this dessert with just chocolate pudding and gummy worms, but your recipe looks much better! I’ve got to make this for my kids (and me)! I think the cookie crumbs would make it seem extra ‘dirty’!

  6. How fun! My son would get a kick out of this.

I would be honored if you shared this on my Sweet Tooth Friday linky. I hope to see you there. http://alli-n-son.com/2011/04/21/quick-no-rise-chocolate-cinnamon-rolls/

Hi! I am so happy you stopped by today – I had to check out your blog only to find this…and now I am tempted to send my husband to the store! haha. I will totally blame almost 3rd trimester pregnant cravings :)

  12. Oh how funny, I made something similar earlier this week on my blog too! But mine were pudding cups instead of ice cream, and ice cream sounds much better! I’ll definitely be substituting some rich chocolate ice cream for pudding in the future. Thanks for the idea!

  13. So cute! My kids would love it!

  14. Sometimes, we must throw the rules out the window…

I just need to find a GF oreo substitute… Annie’s makes healthier bunnies, but not gummie worms…

I did this with my first graders eons ago…

Thanks for linking to Creative Juice Thursday…Hope to see more of your ideas this week!
