you already know that the Christmas season is in full swing in our home!
The tree is up, the mantel is done, the banisters are decorated and the lights are up on the house!
I love this time of year!
And I don’t know how it happens, but every year I seem to need more decorations…
I looked at all of my decore and realized that I had a Christmas ornament identity crisis going on!
But I knew that if I could pull the wreath off that I had in my mind, I could tie everything together properly.
I was lucky enough to be able to find all of the colours I wanted, and then some!
Don’t you just love it when that happens!
I am really happy with how this wreath turned out.
It ties everything together: the mantel, the banisters and the tree! Which I will show you later!
Sequin ribbon wreath hanger…
I love all the sparkle! If you can’t have glam at Christmas, just when can you?!
Pretty, pretty…
Party time anyone?
You will need:
1 grapevine wreath (I bought a large one – about 2.5 feet wide)
1 can of spray paint (I used Valspar’s Brilliant Metal in Silver)
ornaments – I used shatterproof, mixed ornaments, in 5 different colours, that I bought at Wal-Mart
(I forgot to count how many ornaments I used, but this really will depend on the size of your wreath base)
glue gun
1 metre long strip of sequin ribbon for the hanger
- First spray paint your wreath base. I really like doing this now, as I think it adds so much to the wreath – instead of it just being a base, it adds some character and colour! You may remember that I sprayed my Halloween wreath too. Let it dry completely.
- Get your glue gun ready, and just glue those ornaments on! Go random! Go wild!
- I just made my wreath hanger from a strip of sequin ribbon that I bought at Fabricland for $3. Nothing fancy, I just tied it on. I love the effect! Glam!!
