Fresh Herb Wreath & A Summer Mantel

I decided it was time for a mantel change!
I get tired of how things are decorated, and I’m always feeling the need to switch things around!
(kind of like my blog…you may have noticed a new header?!)
Anyway, I tossed around a lot of different ideas for my mantel,
and finally decided on an earthy, rustic, herb inspired theme.
Kind of suits me…I’m a little crunchy, I love gardening and I love cooking…

This wreath is so so very simple.  Almost too simple, but I really LOVE how it turned out.
Now you may think, ‘oh this looks great now, but how did it look the next day?’
Let me tell you…it’s still green, but the herbs are drying out, which is exactly what I’m going for.
I’m actually going to use these herbs when they’re all dried out, then I’ll replace them with fresh ones.
Crazy?  Maybe.
But, isn’t it pretty?!

Here’s a quick little How-To:
  • You need 1 grapevine wreath.
  • Fresh herbs.
  • Some ribbon.
  • All I did was tuck in various fresh herbs into the grapevine wreath base.  I used rosemary, parsley, oregano and thyme.
  • That’s it.

I love how it looks hanging from my old window.
Pretty pretty pretty!

And it smells nice too!

The next thing I did was place it on my mantel,
and ‘shopped’ around my home for accents.
You don’t need to buy new things every time you want to redecorate,
just look around your own home and garden!
I use these little jars for every season,
and use snippets of plants and flowers from my garden.

So here it is, my Herb Inspired Summer Mantel.

Just a simple collection of herb prints I had already,
my herb wreath, some snippets of parsley
and a couple green accents.
Simple. Fresh. Lovely.
Have an inspiring day!
