It’s fall y’all!
And for me that means changing up things in the house…
It’s time for fall colours, rustic elements and cozy fabrics!
One of the things I’m working on right now is my mantel, as it’s at the centre of my home.
So the first thing I tackled for it was a wreath.
There’s just something about wreaths that I love!
I especially love grapevine wreaths, because of how natural they look,
and how pretty they are by themselves.
This week I had a plain grapevine wreath tied up with some burlap,
hanging on my pantry door just waiting to be decorated.
I thought it looked quite pretty just on its own, with no embellishments,
but I just can’t leave things alone.
I wasn’t sure what look I was going for, but when I saw a wreath from Creative Gypsy in a wreath round-up at I Heart Naptime, I was completely inspired!
I have a tonne of burlap around, and little bits of scrap fabric everywhere,
so I knew I could pull something together!
So here’s what I came up with:
I really like how it turned out!
It’s rustic, subtle and looks great on my old window frame.
Here’s How To and What You Need:
1 grapevine wreath
burlap
other fabric
glue gun
- I used an old chunky knit sweater to make the cream coloured rosettes. And scrap burlap fabric to make the burlap rosettes.
- To make the flowers I basically used this technique from another wreath I made. The great thing about making fabric flowers is that you can’t really mess them up. Just keep twisting the fabric around and you are bound to get a pretty flower. The more rustic the better I say!
- Then using a glue gun, I attached the flowers.
- To hang the wreath, I just made a simple tie made out of a strip of burlap.
I also love that this wreath cost me less than $10 to make!
Score!
So my fall decorating has begun! I looooove this time of year!
Have a creative day!

I love this wreath! The burlap rosettes are just perfect, nice work Jo-Anna!
This is such a pretty look for an autumn wreath, Jo-Anna–I love the neutral colors and natural grapevine that you used. Your name Jo-Anna is very pretty–reminds me of the song by the same name by Stephen Sondheim from the musical Sweeney Todd–a gorgeous song!
Such a pretty wreath, I love the natural and cream colours for fall. Looks great on the window too.

Visiting from Shannon’s pinning party…. WOW! What’s not to love??? Old window, burlap rosettes, chicken wire, grape vine – all my favorites right in one stunning vignette. This has to be one of my most favorite wreaths, I’ve ever seen. Totally attempting this one! Awesome! Now following. :)
Pinned it! Love it! Very pretty!
I think you’re qualified to run for Wreath Queen!
Oh this is fall perfection at its finest! A truly wonderful wreath.
While we don’t have much fall here in Phoenix I would love for you to stop by to see where I did find a bit of fall.
Have a blessed day!
Beautiful, yet simple. Something like this would be perfect for our old farm house! Thank you for the inspiration! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
