Earth Day, Simple Things We Can Do Everyday, Part 2

Use rechargeable batteries.
And make sure to recycle your old ones at a hazardous waste outlet.
Use CFL lightbulbs.
They last longer, use less energy, and look good on your utility bill!
From Costco
Collect that precious rain water!
This is a goal for me this year.
Every spring we get so much rain, and I cringe when I watch it all run off into our sewer system!
I will get a rain barrel and collect all that precious water!  It’s better for the plants, it’s a better use of this resource, and it’s better for our water bill!  (I have so many planted pots in the summer!)
Use a programmable thermostat.
Saves energy.  Saves you money.
Yay!
