Getting ready to decorate for the holidays!

This year I could hardly wait to decorate for the holidays, because this was the year I was going to change all of my Christmas decor!  In the past I have decorated my home in jewel tones, with a lot of turquoise, pink, purple and silver, and I really enjoyed all the colour, but it’s time for a change.  I grew up with traditional Christmas colours, and I have found myself feeling a little nostalgic for those times, so I’m bringing back reds, greens and whites into my home.  And I’m about to make that happen with the help of Lowe’s!

To get myself prepared to transform my living room space I needed to come up with a plan.  I knew that I wanted a rustic look with red, green and white, but I also wanted plaids, tartans, and a lot of natural elements.  The words that popped into my head were birch, evergreen, plaid, cozy, snowy, woodland, pine cones, faux fur, festive.  Here is what I came up with to guide me…

Then I turned my attention to Lowes.ca to see if I could find decorations to match my inspiration board, and boy did I ever!  There was so much to choose from, everything from the flocked tree I dreamt about, to plaid ribbon, faux fur and a tonne of natural decor.  Here are some of the items I found on Lowes.ca that I used as my inspiration before heading to the store to purchase everything (you can shop online, but I wanted to go into the store to do it all).

Lucky you, I love the things at Lowe,s unfortunately we don’t have one on the Island. I’m sure you will do your usual fantastic decorating for the season and the colours are perfect for a snowy Canadian winter.
