| My cache of stuff that desperately needs a makeover. Me included. |
It never ceases to amaze me how spray paint can transform something in a matter of minutes!
(Hence the collection I have managed to accumulate over the years.)
I just wish it didn’t smell so bad. And that I could do it whenever I wanted, not just when the weather outside permits it. In the past I have done it in the garage, but I thought I’d see if it was okay to do in the basement. Let’s just say I won’t be doing that again. El stinko.
Anyhoo, here is how I started my loooong journey to our Master Bedroom Makeover.
You might remember from a previous post, that I’m in love with black, grey white and yellow.
But especially yellow. I love it’s sunniness, and how this colour can make me smile.
But especially yellow. I love it’s sunniness, and how this colour can make me smile.
I have had this mirror for years, and while I did like it, it’s not the colour I wanted – it’s actually blue. If it was black, I would have happily hung it, but it wasn’t, so it sat on the floor under my desk covering cords for the past 6 years. Poor thing.
So I grabbed my can of Rust-Oleum yellow spray paint, and got to work! I had to spray it several times (at least 5) but I think that’s because I didn’t prime it first. I was feeling lazy. But, alas, it has new life!
And a wall of it’s very own on which to hang! I think it’s smiling now! Just like me, every time I pass it on my way to our ensuite!
Love the gloss! And how the colour matches my new pillows!
Now it has a new life. Shiny bright in my room.
Get out those cans ladies (and gents?)! What will you spray paint today?

Hi I'm Jo-Anna! I mom. I blog. I cook. I craft. I like pretty things.

impressive * looks awesome ~
i’m totally obsessed with the yellow and gray combo these days. i have a whole post dedicated to it ready for tomorrow. i have to spray outside because of my son’s allergies, and i have several projects waiting for some dry weather. love the yellow frame.
Can’t wait to see your finished room. That color combination sounds amazing! I have always been a little afraid of spray paint…dust, drips, and so on. I may have to give it a try on something small, your project looks amazing!
Love this! I’m wanting to spray paint some frames, too. I cant ever seem to find the sizes I need in all the same color, so I think I’ll be doing this, too.
I’m obsessed with spray paint! The possibilities are endless :)
Such a simple change with a GIANT impact! I have a big black star in my family room that I’ve been thinking about painting yellow. I think you might have made my decision for me!!!
Love the color – so bright and cheery. Who doesn’t love a little spray paint. Great remake.
I agree with you, I love yellow and gray, too! That mirror would brighten any dark hallway. Lovin it!
Very cool – the yellow looks so much better.
Jo-Anna,
Was looking for spray painting projects. I a newby when it comes to that. I see that the finished frame has a nice glossy finish…is Rust-Oleum like a laquered finish paint?
Thanks in advance if you can respond.
