Sweet, soft and gooey!

Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread is the ultimate in sweet delicious breads. Seriously. This bread is the stuff dreams are made of.  It’s sweet, soft, gooey and full of delicious cinnamon flavour. If I had my way, we’d have a loaf every Saturday morning…but that’s just not good for my pants, know what I mean? But when you want a treat, you should make this bread.

Let your bread machine to the hard work.

And don’t worry, it’s much easier than it may look. In fact, I make the dough for this pull apart bread in my bread machine. Bread machines are so awesome for us non-bread makers…they do all the work for you. And the best part is, the end result is the same…you end up with a loaf of delicious bread.

Perfect for sharing.

I also really love that this is a sharing bread…set it out in the middle of your table, and everyone can help themselves. You’ll notice a funny thing will happen…everyone will get quiet, and the middle pieces will disappear first. That’s where all the gooey soft cinnamon sugar syrup is. Are you convinced yet?

  • Total Time: 2 hours 40 minutes
  • Yield: 1 loaf 1x
  • Category: Bread
  • Method: Bread Machine

Ingredients

Units Scale

The Dough:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp skim milk powder
  • 1 tsp bread machine yeast

Cinnamon Sugar Mix:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

The Dough:

  1. Add all of the bread ingredients to the bread machine in the order I have them listed.
  2. Set the bread machine to the dough cycle.
  3. When it is finished, remove the dough from the machine and set it in a warm place, cover with a clean tea towel, and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. At this point, you can put it in the fridge to use the next day, but when you take it out, let it sit for 30 minutes to warm up.

Cinnamon Sugar Mix:

  1. Combine the sugar and cinnamon. Set aside
  2. In a saucepan or microwave, melt your butter. Set aside.

Putting it together:

  1. Roll out dough to measure 12 x 18 inches.
  2. Slather it with the melted butter.
  3. Spread the cinnamon-sugar mix evenly over the dough. Use all of it. Yes.
  4. Cut your dough into 6 even strips, vertically.
  5. Stack the dough pieces on top of each other.
  6. Cut into 6 even strips again.
  7. Grease a loaf pan with butter.
  8. Line up your dough pieces as shown above.
  9. Cover your pan with a clean tea towel again, and let rise for 30-45 minutes more.
  10. Then, in a preheated 350 degree oven, bake for 35-45 minutes. (I put a cookie sheet under my tin, because the sugar mix tends to bubble over.)
  11. When baking is complete, take bread out of the oven, and let rest in the pan for about 15 minutes.
  12. Enjoy!
