Most weekend mornings my hubby is the one who makes us pancakes!
And he’s always experimenting with different flavours (some great, some not…sorry hubs…)
But there are 3 flavours that we really love!

Apple Oatmeal Pancakes Peach Raspberry Oatmeal Pancakes Banana Bread Oatmeal Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 medium apples granny smith and macintosh seem to have the most flavour
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 peach
  • 1/2 cup raspberries
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 banana

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat together eggs. Add buttermilk, oil, sugar and vanilla.
  3. Add the milk mix to the flour mix, and gently combine.
  4. Grate the apples (you don't have to peel them). Then fold them into the batter.
  5. Let batter rest for at least 15 minutes before cooking.
  6. Cook on a preheated medium to high heat griddle.
  7. Combine flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  8. In a separate bowl, beat together eggs. Add buttermilk, oil, sugar and vanilla.
  9. Add the milk mix to the flour mix, and gently combine.
  10. Chop the peach into very small chunks.
  11. Mix the peaches and raspberries together, then fold them into the batter.
  12. Let batter rest for at least 15 minutes before cooking.
  13. Cook on a preheated medium to high heat griddle.
  14. Combine flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  15. In a separate bowl, beat together eggs. Add buttermilk, oil, sugar and vanilla.
  16. Add the milk mix to the flour mix, and gently combine.
  17. Chop the banana into very small chunks, then fold it into the batter.
  18. Let batter rest for at least 15 minutes before cooking.
  19. Cook on a preheated medium to high heat griddle.

 

Tip!
  • You can use any combination of flour:  All whole wheat, all white, half & half.
  • For crunchier waffles, add 2 more tablespoons of vegetable oil.

    Hahah thats great that he likes to experiment..even if they are all not winners 🙂 My husband is the main weekend breakfast maker too! If I could eat waffles or pancakes every day I would! This sounds like a wonderful combo of ingredients! I want to try it!
