I’ve been having some fun with Easter planning this year. I think it’s because we’ve had a reaaaaaally long winter, and I’m dying for it to be over. I just want spring and summer…warm sun, green grass, gardens, flowers, birds chirping. It’s time. And I feel like Easter is the perfect time to pretend it’s spring. The stores and markets are full of fresh flowers and Easter decor, so I decided to embrace it.
Earlier this week I prepared an Easter table setting for the Kendall-Jackson wines blog – you can see it here. And as part of this project I also made some simple and pretty DIY pressed tin napkin rings, and I also made these cute Easter Basket Table Settings with chocolate bunnies, and I’m sharing them with you today!
These bunny baskets just sort of came about by accident. I had bought the cardboard strawberry baskets in the Valentines clearance bin at Michaels not knowing what to do with them. And last week I bought a tonne of Easter and party decorations from Target because everything is on clearance there since they’re closing all the Targets in Canada. Boo. Anyway…
So when I was gathering all my supplies together for my Easter table scape, I just had a little vision of these baskets. They are a simple and super cute way to greet your guests at the dinner table. And chocolate? What better way to say happy Easter than a chocolate bunny?
When I was initially planning my table scape, I knew I wanted to have little chocolate bunnies on the place settings for each of my guests. I used chocolate bunnies that are handmade at Olivier’s Candies using 100+ year old molds that were made in Europe. How fantastic to have chocolate bunnies made this way…handmade with so much history!
All you have to do is stuff the little baskets with some Easter basket filling, and add a chocolate bunny. You can even add little name tags to personalize them even more. Your kids, guests and family will love them! You can never go wrong with personal touches!
Aren’t they cute?
